photo-23My name is David Burgess and I was appointed Vice Principal (Curriculum and Standards) on the 1st April 2009. I am very pleased to be taking up this position at Bacon’s College and I am very much looking forward to getting to know Bacon’s students and their families. The previous expereince which I bring to this post includes line managing Curriculum Managers of many subjects areas including the Creative and Performing Arts, Design Technology, Business Education, ICT, Maths, English and Science. I have worked as an Assistant Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher in two secondary schools, one high achieving and one in challenging circumstances. I have lead Specialist Status in two schools and very much look forward to working with Ms Squires and the Digitial Technology Teams here at Bacon’s College to develop the College’s specialism.

You can use this Blog to contact me, in addition to emailing me at burgess@baconsctc.co.uk. I would be very happy to hear your comments, views and ideas about the College and how we can make sure that it is and continues to be an outstanding school. I shall also use this blog to let you know about some of the priorities that I am working on and also to give you an opportunity to give me feedback on specific issues.

Thank you to all the staff and students who have made my first few days at Bacon’s College very enjoyable, when you see me in and around the College, please do stop me to introduce yourself.
