Librarians on bikes!

Monday, May 11th, 2009

On the 23rd and 24th of May our librarian is cycling from London to Amsterdam. The trip is a fundraiser for the Motor Neurone Disease Association which funds research into Motor Neurone Disease and provides assistance to sufferers and their families. The ride is organised by Duncan Bayly who is a 30 year old suffering from Motor Neurone Disease who was diagnosed with the disease 18 months ago. The disease is currently incurable and general prognosis is 18 months to 5 years. It’s a worthy cause and a fantastic and challenging 140 mile ride over 2 days. For anyone interested in the ride have a look at the website www.rideformnd.com and anyone interested in donating can do so online at www.justgiving.co.uk/librariansonbikes .

Books for Schools Scheme

Tuesday, May 5th, 2009

Just like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who donated tokens for the Books for Schools scheme. We collected 120 to spend in the Spring Term Catalogue, which is lovely. The Summer Term scheme is now up and running and tokens will appear daily in The Times and also in The Sunday Times. Once again, all donations gratefully received!

Thank you,

Angela
